The Grandson, of Thomas (1671-1754). Joseph married in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1786. Joseph seems to have spent his life at sea. His marriage produced 2 sons, Robert, whose youngest son was Sir Thomas Smith Clouston. The youngest son, George, would return to Tyneside in 1815 and settle raising his family in North Shields.
